Federal Member for Bonner, Ross Vasta, says it’s “breathtaking” that the developers have failed to consult with the community about plans to build high-rise units at heritage-listed Lota House.
Anglicare and Village Retirement Group have an application before the Brisbane City Council to build 104 units in four 7-storey towers at the Oceana Terrace site.
“You would think in this day and age there should be greater consultation with community when a huge development like this is going to impact on so many local residents and such a beautiful heritage listed property”.
Mr Vasta said he had written to the Minister for State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning, Cameron Dick, asking that the application be rejected.
He wants the developers to redraft their proposal after consulting with the local community.
