See details of the appeal to the Planning and Environment Court. Sign the Petition Sign the petition supporting the council and urging it to fully defend the appeal. Ask your friends and neighbours to sign. We don’t want Village Retirement Group and their lawyers deciding what should be built in our community. Support the council in court The next court review is scheduled for June 24, 2019 at the law courts complex, 415 George Street, Brisbane city. This will be a one-hour hearing to decide whether the council can have leave to present additional grounds for rejecting the appeal. The review will be before Judge Michael Williamson. We need your support to go along and show the council and the court that the community is still opposed to high-rise at Lota House. If we can fill the gallery each time there is a hearing, we can convince the council that we want them to keep fighting on our behalf. The court will be encouraging Village Retirement Group and council lawyers to come up with a compromise plan for development at Lota House. That could mean high rise goes ahead.
