They have resubmitted their plans for four high-rise towers at Lota House.  Nothing has really changed. They plan to build one less unit (103 instead of 104) in, two 5- storey and two  6-storey buildings.

See the Anglicare and Village Retirement Group application at the Brisbane City Council site (PD online)

See an overview of what they plan here

Tell council to stop this development
  • The four buildings will obscure Lota House from public view.
  • They will cut down 55 trees – a quarter of the woodland to build them.
  • Unless we object, the council will think we want this development to go ahead.

What you can do
How to object:
  1. Dig out your old submission  to PD online (from last year when the application was first made) – tweak it so it’s relevant to the re-submitted application and upload it to PD online You won’t have to change much OR...
  2. Write a new submission and upload it to PD online tell the council why you think this development is not appropriate for our suburb and how it will affect you OR...
  3. Download a copy of our generic submission and upload to PD online Our generic submission outlines the town planning grounds on which this application should be rejected. Please change it as you want, add extra information and your own comments, particularly in the introduction AND
  4. Contact your local councillor Peter Cumming He is aware of the application and does not support it
  5. GET THE WORD OUT! Tell your neighbours and friends. Get onto social media.

Please Lodge your objection with the council before March 8.

More high rise planned
Anglicare and Village Retirement Group want to build a total of eight towers.  But they are not telling council the full story. The council asked Anglicare and Village Retirement Group to supply a master plan showing the height and location of proposed future buildings.  Anglicare and Village Retirement Group  have refused to do so.

Anglicare have told us that what they get approval for this time will affect what they build in the future.
If you have any questions or need help with your submission, please contact us and don't forget to let your neighbours know about the application.
